Workshops for Writers - April 4: Celebrating Poetry
Join the St. Louis Writers Guild from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CDT on Saturday, April 4, 2026, to celebrate National Poetry Month at a free workshop with On the Edge, the Missouri State Poetry Society’s local chapter.
Members of On the Edge will join us LIVE for this FREE workshop. We will gather at The Lodge Des Peres, 1050 Des Peres Rd., St. Louis, MO, 63131 for the presentation, or you may attend the meeting online. To do so, follow the event link from the St. Louis Writers Guild website.
Several members of On the Edge will share the stage as the group discusses the myriad of ways poetry enriches our lives. Poetry is a way to expression love of the natural world, engage in mental health therapeutics, improvement speech and stuttering, express our cultural heritage, and experience playful fun. The audience will enjoy writing poetry inspired by prompts and props as well as the list poetry method.
The On the Edge Chapter of the Missouri State Poetry Society serves member poets in St. Louis and Jefferson counties. The group meets monthly for fellowship, poetry critique, and discussion of other matters related to poetry. Their members anthology, entitled On the Edge, is published in December.
