The Gateway Con Book Fair is June 14-Jun 16, 2019 at the St. Louis Renaissance Airport Hotel. Admission to all Gateway Con Book Fair Events are free and open to the public.

Book Party

Saturday, June 15, 2019… It’s a Book Party. A huge book signing event with all the authors at Gateway Con. A 30 minute discussion about books, and then a book signing extravaganza. Food and Drinks. Cash Bar. Come and join the Book Party!


Young Writers Workshops

The Gateway Con Book Fair will feature several workshops for writers of all ages. Best of all, the workshops at the book fair are free to attend and open to all. Two workshops for Grades 4th-8th. Workshops for High School Students and Adults. There are also write-ins where participants can write in a group setting.

The Author Hall

The Author Hall at Gateway Con consists of authors, writers service providers, and vendors in the luxurious front hall of the Renaissance Hotel. Find authors from across the region, meet the literary organizations of St. Louis. Enjoy the readings, author panels, write-ins, and young writer workshops. Tables can be reserved for one, or up to three authors. The Author Hall is open whenever the Book Fair Events are listed.

Author Hall Registration Includes...

    > With Full Table – Six-foot rectangular table and two chairs. Comes with tablecloth and skirt.

    > With a Corner Table – Two six-foot rectangular tables and three chairs

    > With Half-Table - half of a six foot rectangular table and one chair. Comes with tablecloth and skirt.

    > Name listed in the Program and on the website before the event

    > Sign up for a Reading Slot on Friday or Saturday Night

    > Book signing at the Book Party, and sign up for a chance to read during the book fair

> Invitation to the Documentary Film Premiere and Genre Talk Cocktail Party.

> Food is provided on Friday Night and Saturday Day in the Author Hall

Gateway Con 2019 will feature two writers contests!

Young Writers CON-test
Opens: March 1st, 2019
Deadline: May 1st, 2019
Winners will be honored at a ceremony and reading at Gateway Con. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Noon.
There are young writer workshops that day.

Gateway Con Storyteller Awards
Opens: March 1st, 2019
Deadline: May 1st, 2019
Winners will be announced at the Gateway Con Book Party! Saturday, June 15, 2019, 6-8pm.

Free for registered Gateway to Publishing Conference & Convention attendees
There will be a fee for those not attending the writer’s conference, but it will be open to any writers over the age of 18.

St. Louis Writers Guild Harassment Policy

Be nice!

Gateway Con has a zero-tolerance harassment policy and is dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free environment. SLWG hopes everyone has a wonderful time among the books, but if anyone feels harassed, intimidated, discriminated, or if you see harassment please report it to the information table or any staff member, and organizers will deal with the issue. There are safe areas available and SLWG will ban anyone who violates the harassment policy.

This includes all harassment, intimidation, and discrimination made on the basis of race, age, sex, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, disability, medical condition, religion, class, body size, veteran status, marital/domestic partnership status, citizenship or any other marginalized identity. Harassment includes verbal comments, written comments, displayed images, or behaviors such as deliberate intimidation, stalking, body policing, unwelcome photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and bullying or coercion of any kind, in particular forcing another to accept your beliefs.
