10:30-Noon - Workshop - Perfecting Your Pitch - What to expect, and how to craft a pitch.
Noon to 1pm - Break
1-2pm - Panel: After the Book: From Contract to Bookshelf - What happens after writing the book…
2-3pm - Copyrights and Contract Law with Mark Sableman of Thompson Coburn LLP, a guest from the VLAA, Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts.
3pm - Ask the Expert: Constructing a Realistic Fight Scene with David Lucas, Yodan, 4th Degree Black Belt
3pm - Ask the Expert: Conventions Booths - Is it the signs? Is it the book stand? Or, is it the candy dish… what makes a good book booth?
4pm - Break
4:30-6pm - 1st Page Reading - Submit 5 copies of the 1st 2 pages of your manuscript, to be read aloud for agents and editors who will comment on the opening.
6-8pm Master Classes - an additional $50 for these in-depth sessions
6-8pm - Genre Talk, network with writers in small genre-specific groups, hor d’oeuvres and cash bar.
