Worldbuilding Basics for Authors – 10 a.m.

Worldbuilding is the process every author goes through when creating the setting for their characters to live in - it's the stage against which our actors play out their adventures.

“This worldbuilding workshop will cover the basics of fleshing out your inner world and putting it down on paper, from the very geographic bones of your inner land to the people who inhabit it, their cultures, and all the nuanced aspects that hold their world together, so that when your world goes onto the page it will jump out to your readers just as real and vibrant and alive as it is to you,” Amanda said. “To quote the Bard: 'All the world's a stage, and all the people its players.' Let's start building your stage together today."

Worldbuilding for Historical Fiction, Sci-fi and Fantasy – 11 a.m.

Historical fiction, Sci-fi and Fantasy have some of the most intense worldbuilding of any genres because they are taking readers to new worlds. Join multiple award-winning author Nicole Evelina as she walks you through how to develop your setting, character traits, language, history/mythology, the culture and the rules of your world. She will also show you how this information ties into your plot and character arcs to strengthen your whole book.
