"One foggy morning while working on the construction of the Thomas Eagleton Courthouse, I took this photo of downtown St. Louis. It was quiet and peaceful above the bank of clouds. The Gateway Arch rose above the submerged skyscrapers and stood out as a glorious monument in honor of the countless pioneers who passed through St. Louis during their westward movement."
