Directions to Enter Information for Members' Books
If you have written a book and are a member of the St. Louis Writers Guild, you may enter your book information to be included on our Members' Books page. Please follow the following steps:
- You need a Discussion Board account. If you don't have one, request one from the Webmaster.
- Once the account is created, login and go to the Add/Update Your Publications window.
- Click on the Add Record button to input information for a book.
- Once you click on the button, you will see a form to enter the title, ISBN, year, etc. of your book.
- Enter the information. Please note the Description is not necessary. You can find the ISBN number on the Barnes & Noble site if the book is available through that company. While the ISBN is not required at the time of entering book information, if you want your book to be linked to the Barnes & Noble online store, you must provide an ISBN. The ISBN is used to get the book's cover and other information to help you sell your book. If your book is not sold through Barnes & Noble but is sold elsewhere, please put the third-party location where the book is sold in the Description field.
- Once you've got the information entered, hit the Save button. Your information will show up in the spreadsheet format at the top of the window.
- Send the Webmaster a message with your first and last name saying that you entered the information along with the ISBN(s). The Webmaster will then get the graphics needed (if the book is available from Barnes & Noble).
To update information, assuming you have an account:
- Click on the title you are interested in updating.
- Change the information.
- Click on the Save button.
- If you have changed an ISBN, you must notify the Webmaster with your book title and ISBN along with your first and last name saying that you changed the ISBN.
If you forgot your password, please send an email to the Webmaster with your first and last name, saying you forgot your password.
If you have any problems, please notify the Webmaster.
