- Missouri Center for the Book is an affiliate of the national Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, which was established by law in 1977 to strengthen and celebrate the vital role of books, reading, and libraries in the cultural life of the nation. This organization promotes the importance of books and reading to Missouri residents, celebrates the state’s literary heritage, and recognizes the contributions of Missouri’s authors, book illustrators, booksellers, publishers, librarians, and others involved in the literary arts.

- Missouri Writers Guild MWG is a dynamic, statewide, professional writers’ organization, of which St. Louis Writers Guild is a chapter. MWG's mission is to bring Missouri professional writers together for inspiration, enjoyment, networking, career enhancement, and marketing information. Individual membership in MWG entitles writers to a newsletter, access to its “Members Only” website resources, contests, and an annual conference. Chapter membership links MWG writers' organizations throughout Missouri, thereby facilitating the dissemination of news and events and encouraging collaboration. SLWG encourages writers to seek individual membership in the Missouri Writers Guild.

- Saturday Writers (St. Peters)
Founded in January 2002, Saturday Writers' membership includes writers from the Missouri counties of St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, and western St. Louis. Chapter meetings are held on the last Saturday of every month from 11 AM until 1 PM at the St. Peters Community and Arts Center, 1035 St. Peters Howell Road (just off Mid Rivers Mall Drive); St. Peters, MO 63376. - St. Louis Publishers Association (St. Louis) - SLPA's mission is to help members produce quality publication products and market them effectively. Most members of this organization are self-publishers though some own small presses and everyone interested in publishing is welcome. Meetings are held at the Richmond Heights Community Center, 8001 Dale Avenue on the second Wednesday of every month and begin at 7 PM with doors open for networking at 6:30 PM. - Toastmasters (St. Louis area) Today many people are more comfortable communicating by email or telephone than communicating face-to-face. Speaking to large or small groups, or even one-to-one, may be intimidating or frightening. Toastmasters International is a non-profit, educational organization devoted to making effective oral communication a worldwide reality and, through its member clubs, helps people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking. At a Toastmasters Club, a mutually supportive and positive learning environment, you will learn how to successfully formulate, express, and present your ideas and yourself and get rid of that nervousness you feel when called upon to speak. You will improve your ability to listen to and evaluate other people's ideas. Also, you will learn more than just communication skills in a club; you will build leadership skills when you organize and conduct Club meetings and motivate others to help you. By joining a Toastmasters Club, you will embark on an amazing journey, fostering self-confidence and personal growth.

- Library of Congress Center of the Book State Affiliates These state centers use themes established by the Library of Congress Center and develop activities that promote their own state's book culture and literary heritage, sponsoring projects and hosting events that call attention to the importance of books, reading, literacy and libraries.
